'I found it hard': Sam Smith reveals they struggled in lockdown because they hadn't been at home 'for more than three weeks in EIGHT years'
Sam Smith revealed they struggled through lockdown as they'd never been home for more than three weeks in eight years because of their busy touring schedule.
The singer, 28, made an appearance on The One Show on Wednesday to discuss their new album, and said being stuck at home during the coronavirus pandemic was 'hard', but their sister helped get them through it.
Sam said candidly: 'Yeah, I found it hard, I've been travelling for eight years and I hadn't been in my house for more than three weeks in eight years.

'I was living with my sister, and I'm still going to be with her in the next four weeks, and she helped me out and we buckled down and did fun stuff. But it's a weird time.'
In March, Sam shared a collage of their varying 'stages of a quarantine meltdown' as they spent time at home, and they appeared to cry in one snap.
While they struggled being isolated from people in lockdown, Sam added that the time at home allowed them to deal with their anxiety, which was exasperated by their busy career.
They explained: 'I get so anxious being in front of people on stage, I got so anxious towards the end of last year so it's been good for me to have a break.'

'I'm definitely going to do that at some point, but I've still got more in me. I've still got ambition. I try and settle it down all the time and play it down, but I'm ambitious and I would still want to sing to people and do this job. It's an amazing feeling.'
On the subject of love, Sam divulged, 'I’m going to work my ass off until then [and] hopefully find a boyfriend — but they're absolutely nowhere to be found anywhere in London,
'I've been searching all over the place. Honestly, I've been on the frontline now for a good three years and it’s exhausting.'
