Why are NCT fans angry with the new MV? NCTzens show support for WinWin on Twitter - HITC - Football, Gaming, Movies, TV, Music

NCT are back with the second part of their second studio album, NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 2. The group have released ’90’s Love’ as its leading single. However, fans are not all impressed with the accompanying music video, but why is this the case?

First of all, K-Pop fans are amongst the most dedicated fans you’ll ever meet and when their favourite idols are mistreated, you can guarantee that they will even go after the entertainment companies to show their support.

This time, NCTzens are here for NCT U member WinWin, soon after the ’90’s’ Love music video was released.

Who are NCT U?

NCT U is the first sub-unit of SM Entertainment’s 2016 boy group NCT. The concept of the overall group is to have several sub-units within, where members split off to release songs.

Currently, there are 23 members in the group and there are 4 sub-units: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV, who are based in China.

The only song where all members came together was ‘Black on Black’ in 2018, where the group was called NCT 2018; there were 18 members at the time.

Why are fans angry at the new music video?

Judging from Twitter comments, Chinese member WinWin is trending because fans are claiming that he does not get much screen time in the video. On top of that, he only has four lines in the song, which don’t even total up to 10 seconds.

His only lyrics are:
Listen, DJ drops it (drop)
(Feel a way feel a way what)
‘Cause the night is short
So let me see you do your thang (come on)

According to a fan’s tweet, the song is dominated by Thai member, Ten, whose line distribution is 34.3%. Meanwhile, WinWin only has 1.8%.

Being part of a big group means competing for screen time but surely the distribution should not be this unfair, right?

What are the responses to ’90’s Love’ online?

NCTzens are definitely showing their appreciation for WinWin after the song did not show his full potential.

WinWin isn’t the only one; Yangyang is getting some love too after singing in only 9.6% of the song.

The fans are fuming that the dinosaur mascot in their hockey themed MV got more screen time that the both of them!
