Lady Gaga fans writing laws for the fictional world of 'Chromatica' - Insider - INSIDER

  • Lady Gaga's highly anticipated sixth studio album, Chromatica, is set to drop May 29.
  • The project has been billed as a spiritual successor to her experimental third studio album, ARTPOP, which came out in 2013.
  • On Twitter, fans are celebrating the upcoming release by adding their own flourishes to the world of Chromatica: the futuristic, fictional planet Gaga created in the making of this record.

The countdown to "Chromatica," Lady Gaga's newest LP, is almost over. The album, as the pop icon explained in an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, is a portal to a colorful, inclusive world of her own creation.

"I think what I've learned is that I can view the world in whatever way I choose to see it," she told Lowe. "And it doesn't mean that I'm deleting the bad things, it just means that I can reframe my life experiences and reframe also the way that the world frames life experiences to a way that I love and believe in. That is Chromatica. I live on Chromatica, that is where I live. I went into my frame — I found Earth, I deleted it. Earth is cancelled. I live on Chromatica."

Ready to leave the suffocating confines of your home or apartment behind and blast off right alongside her? You're not alone. Maybe that's why fans are already doing the important civic work of setting up a functioning government for the "United States of Chromatica" on Twitter.

The account was created by user @jayjuniorrr less than 24 hours ago, but already, the "United States of Chromatica" has introduced some very progressive legislation. Earthlings seeking asylum, take note.

Resident's of Chromatica must embody its values. Questionable celebrities appear to not be allowed.

RuPaul's visa was suspended due to suspected involvement in hydraulic fracking on his 60,000-acre plot of land in Wyoming. Last month, he told NPR's Terry Gross that he's been leasing the mineral rights of his property to oil companies.

Ellen DeGeneres' application was rejected outright, likely due to recent rumors that the perennially perky daytime show host is, in fact, "one of the meanest people alive."

Thankfully, it appears Grimes and her newborn son made the cut.

"Rain on Me" collaborator Ariana Grande was elected vice president. Charli XCX will take the helm as the president of agriculture on Chromatica. Shakira has been appointed minister of foreign affairs. Azealia Banks will serve as secretary of education. Drag queen Jasmine Masters, meanwhile, will act as Gaga's press secretary and address the nation on her behalf.
