Sorry, Hamilton, you had a good run, but The Kissing Booth 2 trailer is here, and ready to deliver what today’s youth really wants to see: kissing, kissing, and more kissing.
The wait is almost over for the sequel to this teen romance, a huge hit for Netflix when it first premiered in 2018. The Kissing Booth cast is back, along with a few new faces and a lot of new drama. You can catch the film in just a few weeks’ time—July 24, on Netflix. But first, you can finally watch The Kissing Booth 2 trailer above, written and directed by Vince Marcello, who also wrote and directed the first film.
Here’s the gist: Elle (Joey King) and dreamy bad boy Noah (Jacob Elordi) are, like, totally dating and everything is perfect—until Noah has to go off to Harvard, aka the only college teens in movies ever seem to know about. Elle is stuck finishing her senior year of high school while juggling a long-distance relationship, college applications with her best friend Lee (Joel Courtney), and, according to the official movie synopsis, “a new friendship with a handsome classmate that could change everything.”
Wait, sorry, what was that last thing? That’s right—there is a new hot guy at school named Marco (Taylor Perez) who happens to overhear Elle calling him “a snack.” (Oops!) She and Lee decide they need to recruit Marco to be a kisser for their kissing booth, which is an annual thing, apparently. But when Lee finds out that Elle is applying to Harvard after they promised each other they were going to Berkeley… well, let’s just say things get a little messy.
Basically, The Kissing Booth 2 is going to have all of the same drama, romance, and heartache as the first film, and I have no doubt the teens will be pleased. Just because we can’t go outside this summer doesn’t mean it still can’t be the summer of love.
The Kissing Booth 2 will stream on Netflix on July 24, 2020.
