Two new trailers for Spider-Man: No Way Home reveal better looks at Electro's new design, which features Iron Man-inspired tech. Next up on the MCU's movie release calendar is Spider-Man: No Way Home, the latest big screen adventure starring Tom Holland as the beloved webslinger. This new installment picks up from where 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home left off: With Peter Parker's identity being revealed to the world thanks to Mysterio's posthumous machinations. Peter turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help, but when the sorcerer's spell goes horribly wrong, the multiverse gets split wide open.
As a result, No Way Home will feature the returns of several actors from past Spider-Man franchises. Fans are still waiting on confirmation for those like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, but Sony has plunged ahead in revealing numerous villains who will be making their grand comebacks. This includes Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), and Electro (Jamie Foxx). Last year, Foxx was the first person announced to return for Spider-Man: No Way Home after his onetime appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Despite that, it was only recently that fans have been granted full peeks at Foxx's Electro return. Following the reveal of the second Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer last week, Sony has begun unveiling various TV spots for the movie. Two of them, currently hidden on the Sony Pictures Canada YouTube channel, offer shots of Electro with what looks like his own Iron Man-esque arc reactor. You can check them out down below.

One of the biggest selling points of bringing Electro back for Spider-Man: No Way Home was that he would get a major redesign. In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, his electric powers were, for some strange reason, ice blue. This time around, Electro will have his comics-accurate yellow powers, though his costume will look far different. It looks like Electro is channeling his powers through his new tech, seemingly inspired by Iron Man himself. It's refreshing to see Foxx looking more normal after his blue-skinned appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
It'll be interesting to see if Spider-Man: No Way Home opts to acknowledge Electro's Iron Man nods, or if they are just intended as sly Easter eggs for fans. There could be a story reason for this, which would be interesting to consider seeing as Electro comes from a different universe than the MCU. This is just one more question that Spider-Man: No Way Home might answer. Luckily, it's getting closer and closer to release ever day, so the wait for more information won't stretch on for much longer.
