What are the Sussexes doing in South Africa?

The Sussexes first announced their trip to South Africa two weeks ago on their Instagram page.

“Today, we are excited to be able to announce details for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming tour to Africa!” the announcement read.
“In just two weeks, Their Royal Highnesses will embark on this official tour focusing on community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS, and the environment.”

Markle and Harry both have an incredibly full schedule ahead of them.

“From meeting with Archbishop Desmond Tutu to joining ‘Waves for Change’ on Monwabisi Beach, the South Africa program will be educational and inspiring,” the post continued.

“The Duke is especially proud to continue the legacy left by his mother with her work in Angola as he joins Halo Trust again in an effort to rid the world of landmines.”

“HRH will also travel to Malawi where he will check in on the British Army’s partnership with African Parks and will be working on the ground supporting local communities.”

Archie’s first appearance in South Africa

Today, Harry and Markle took baby Archie to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

“This morning The Duke and Duchess were honoured to introduce their son Archie, to Archbishop, Desmond Tutu and his daughter, Thandeka,” the royal couple captioned a picture of the meeting.

“The Archbishop, a globally respected figure in anti-apartheid movement, is one of the world’s great champions of equality, and has spent his life tirelessly battling injustice.”

“Their Royal Highnesses have joined The Archbishop and Thandeka to learn more about the work of The Tutu and Leah Legacy Foundation, and see first-hand how they are focussing on global awareness of the critical issues affecting the world.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also shared a video of Archie heading to meet the Archbishop on their Sussex Royal Instagram story.

Archie was certainly dressed to impress today. He was fitted in a light blue striped dungaree with thick socks.

Not to be outdone, Markle wore a Club Monaco navy and white silk dress that retails at £369. Harry looked suave as ever in his own navy suit.

After meeting the Archbishop, the entire Sussex clan joined him and his daughter for tea.

“He’s an old soul,” Markle remarked about Archie over tea.

“I think he is used to it already,” Harry said of Archie loving the camera attention.

Hopefully, now that he has made his video debut, we will be seeing a lot more of the littlest royal.
