Gov. Charlie Baker on Saturday announced that phase two of the state's reopening plan can start on Monday.
Here's a list of what businesses can reopen in phase two. Most if not all of the reopening guidance includes restrictions to facilitate social distancing.
- Restaurants for outdoor seating in step one; indoor seating in step two
- Retail stores (previously only open for curbside pickup)
- Beer gardens, breweries, wineries and distilleries (if providing seated food service under retail food permits issued by municipal authorities)
- Non-athletic instructional classes in arts, education or life skills (for people under 18 and in groups of fewer than 10)
- Non-construction related in home installations (like carpet installation, home theaters and security systems)
- In-showroom browsing at auto dealers and wholesalers
- Casino hotels and restaurants
- Behind the wheel training at driving schools
- Occupational schools "for the limited purposes of permitting students to complete a degree, program, or prerequisite for employment, or other similar requirement for completion."
- Hotels, motels, inns and other short-term lodging.
- Personal services that don’t involve close personal contact (such as photography, window washers, career coaching)
- Flight schools
- Funeral homes (with a 40% capacity limit and one service at a time in the facility)
- Warehouses and distribution centers
There will also be a "step two" to phase two. The businesses that can open later include:
- Close contact personal services (such as massage therapy, nail salons, tattoo parlors, electrolysis studios)
- Personal trainers (Appointment-only training with only one customer, or two from the same household, allowed in the facility at a time)
- Inside restaurant dining (as opposed to outdoor seating)
