The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the world, and one of its many side effects has to do with the fact that so many movies have been delayed. As a result, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have few things to look forward to in these last few months of 2020.
Currently, Black Widow is the only MCU movie that’s supposed to come out in 2020, but that can change at any point in time. With that said, one of Disney’s new MCU shows on Disney+, WandaVision, is also supposed to come out later this year.
However, Marvel fans think that WandaVision may actually come out at the very end of the year, meaning that the show is still months away from its premiere.
What ‘WandaVision’ is about
For Marvel fans, the new Marvel shows on Disney+ have an interesting premise. Those shows are supposed to give popular characters big stories that wouldn’t really work as a movie. As a result, characters like Loki, Falcon, the Winter Soldier, and the Scarlet Witch are all getting a show, just to name a few.
WandaVision, like its name implies, will focus on the relationship between Wanda Maximoff, which is the real name of the Scarlet Witch, and her boyfriend, Vision. Wanda is actually one of the most powerful characters in the comics, and the Marvel movies are slowly showing off more of her powers.
WandaVision could be the show that shows off just how powerful of a character Wanda really is, and that’s pretty exciting for Marvel fans.
‘WandaVision’ is still coming in 2020, but when?

As Marvel fans talked about on Reddit, Disney recently confirmed that, despite the pandemic, WandaVision is still on track to premiere in 2020. That said, the other Marvel show that was supposed to come this year, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, has seemingly been delayed until next year.
Unlike Disney’s other major show, The Mandalorian, Disney didn’t actually announce the exact date that WandaVision is set to premiere on. This has caused fans to speculate about the actual release date of WandaVision.
Many fans speculated that Disney will release WandaVision after season two of The Mandalorian finishes. Fans speculate that Disney will do that so that both shows won’t compete with each other. Many Star Wars fans are also MCU fans and vice versa, so by spacing out both shows, Disney can theoretically get the most bang for their buck in terms of subscriptions.
Due to that, many fans speculated that WandaVision will come out in December. Season two of The Mandalorian will premiere on October 30, and it’ll have eight episodes.
This means that its second season will finish a week before Christmas. As a result, WandaVision could premiere on Christmas, and it’d be a welcome present for Marvel fans.
Fans are extremely excited for ‘WandaVision’
While WandaVision is still more than likely months away from release, Marvel fans are just excited that something Marvel-related is coming soon. As one fan wrote, “2020 is saved…. to some extent.”
Many fans are worried that Disney will delay Black Widow again, and that would leave fans with just one Marvel-related thing in 2020. However, since Disney confirmed that WandaVision will be coming in 2020, and since it’s a TV show that’s on a streaming service, fans aren’t worried about WandaVision getting delayed like they’re worried about Black Widow getting delayed.
On top of that, since Disney is seemingly set on a 2020 release date for WandaVision, that also means that a trailer is probably coming soon. Trailers are always a good way to get fans hyped about something, and that’s exactly what Marvel fans expect from this trailer.
