Lee Kwang-Soo To Depart Popular Korean Variety Show ‘Running Man’ - Forbes

Actor Lee Kwang-soo, affectionately known by the nickname “Prince of Asia,” is reportedly leaving the popular Korean variety show Running Man. Lee has been a cast member since the show began in 2010.

His agency, KingKong by Starship, has announced that his last show will be in May. According to his agency, the reason for his departure is the physical injuries he sustained after a car accident in April 2020. The action variety show involves physical challenges that have become more difficult for him despite ongoing physical therapy. Emcees and guests complete missions and play games.

The actor will take some time off to recover and the show will continue with the remaining current members Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Haha, Song Ji-hyo, Jeon So-min, and Yang Se-chan. The show has seen a revolving number of cast members during the last decade and those who depart sometimes return as special guests, so that option is always a possibility for Lee.

Lee, who began his career as a model in 2007, made his acting debut in the 2008 comedy Here He Comes. He has appeared in a long list of TV dramas, including Goddess of Fire, It’s Okay That’s Love and Entourage, as well as several films, including Confession, Collective Invention, The Accidental Detective, Inseparable Bros and Tazza: One Eyed Jack, although he may best known for his comedic roles in variety shows such as Running Man and Busted!

He is currently considering several acting projects.
