BTS enters Guinness World Records 2022 Hall of Fame with 23 feats
Guinness World Records announced on Sept. 2 that K-pop superstars and Grammy nominees BTS have entered its 2022 Hall of Fame with 23 records.
“At the moment of writing the group holds a staggering 23 world records, making them one of the most successful bands in the history of Guinness World Records,” according to Guinness.
It added, “Culturally, BTS jumping from strength to strength aided a global rediscovery of South Korean society. Their popularity grew hand in hand with a general awareness and passion for ‘K-culture,’ which spread across the web like wildfire. It’s hard to determine if the rise of trends such as K-beauty and K-dramas is a consequence or a cause of BTS’ ever-growing popularity, but one thing is for sure: the country is, now more than ever, one of the global trendsetters.”
“The barriers BTS overcame – cultural, linguistic, and within the music industry – and the way they unified so many people across the world with the sheer power of their art is, and will continue to be, an inspiration,” Guinness stated, adding that BTS can be found in the Guinness World Records 2022 on pages 212 to 213.
