Kpop Releases of the Day: NCT Dream's Beatbox English Version, MAMAMOO+'s Chico Malo, BOBBY's Drowning and More - Leisure Byte

March 21, 2023, has been a rather eventful day for the lovers of Kpop music, so we bring to you a list of Kpop releases of the day. Some of these music premieres include underrated K-indie and K-rock music too that may not have reached out to you as opposed to other well-known titles. Nevertheless, that gives us all the more reasons to check out these artists and praise their diligence in putting across such melodious records to warm up our souls right away.

Kpop Releases of the Day – March 21

1. NCT Dream – Beatbox English Version Lyric Video

After having releases their second repackaged album Beatbox in 2022, along with the titular track leading the tracklist, NCT Dream has now brought out the English version of the same track. Breathing a completely new life into the song, all seven members of the SM Entertainment can be heard singing in the English language. A lyric video that equally “pops like soda” has accompanied this digital single premiere.

2. iKON’s BOBBY – Drowning Music Video

Premiering today, S.i.R., BOBBY’s (iKON) first single album consists of two tracks – Drowning (feat. SOLE) and Cherry Blossom. The second track on the album was released a day earlier along with its music video, while the leading single came out today with its respective MV. Although leading track has been performed BOBBY and SOLE, the music video also featured DK of iKON, Hwiyoung of SF9 and Sunwoo of THE BOYZ.

3. MAMAMOO+ – Chico Malo (Pre-release Track)

Portraying a regal narrative, the Chico Malo music video highlights the first sub-unit of MAMAMOO featuring Solar and Moonbyul situating their characters in the video in a period setting as they can be seen donning traditional Korean outfits. However, it all has a modern twist to it as paraphernalia corresponding to the new age backs up the visuals and their story, along with traditional Korean instruments. The song’s title refers to the term ‘Bad Boy’ in Spanish, and it expresses the narrative through the means of musical storytelling, a form that is recognised as the Korean genre of ‘Pansori’.

TVXQ’s Kim Jun-su or Via also makes a special appearance in the video. Chico Malo is set to be on the tracklist of the sub-unit’s first single album, ACT 1, SCENE 1, slated for release on March 29, 2023.

4. Gaho – Love Me Mood Video

Following the release of his second mini album Diamond on March 20, 2023, Gaho also released the music video of the leading track on the same day. A new ‘Mood Video’ for the same has emerged today, that captures all the visuals on vintage film, lending an addition aesthetic touch to the soft and emotional love ballad.

5. YUJU – Art Film

The latest EP put out by YUJU stands as her second mini album titled O. While the album came out on March 7, 2023, and was led by the second track on its list, Without U, the artist has revealed a new video for the fourth track on the album, Peach Blossom (feat sokodomo) today. The MV was declared to be an ‘Art Film’, and situates the singer in a cemetery surrounding her with flowers.

6. HORI7ON – Dash MV Teaser 2

MLD Entertainment is the same company that brought us talents like MOMOLAND, TFN and Lapillus, and now the agency has put together a new boy group called HORI7ON or HORIZON. Branded as a global pop rather than a Kpop group, it consists of seven members, all of who were finalised through the joint Korea-Philippines audition show Dream Maker. With all Fillipino members set to debut around mid June 2023, their pre-release single will set the ground for their eventual debut once it come out on March 22, 2023, at 12 PM KST.

7. Jeong Sewoon – Blooming (Kdrama OST)

The South Korean singer-songwriter signed under Starship Entertainment has already lent his mesmerising vocals to numerous Kdrama OSTs. He has once again gone back to his soundtrack roots for the romantic comedy series The Secret Romantic Guesthouse, and released the track Blooming.

8. GOT7’s Youngjae – Err Day Live Performance at Dingo Music

On March 12, 2023, GOT7’s Youngjae released his latest single Err Day, and for today promotions, he appeared on Dingo Music to sing the song live.

13. BTS’ Jimin – Set Me Free Pt 2 MV Shoot Sketch

14. BTS’ Jimin – Like Crazy MV Teaser

Looking like a dazzling dream, Park Jimin is all set to extend his debut solo album outside BTS’ repertoire on March 24, 2023. His pre-release track Set Me Free Pt 2 has already won over fans and non fans alike. Like Crazy will also be supported by its English version in the album, which has raised the anticipation bar higher than one could’ve anticipated.

15. ATEEZ – Limitless (Japanese Single Album)

As per IST, the music video came out on March 21, 2023. The single album is now available on Spotify.
