BTS leader RM addressed recent controversy over his sharing of Frank Ocean's song, 'Bad Religion'. Some fans accused RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, of Islamophobia, with some expressing outrage to the extent of burning his photo cards. In a live session on Weverse, RM offered a detailed response to the controversy.
'I DID NOT INSULT ANY RELIGION': RM
RM clarified that his aim was not to disrespect any religion by sharing the song. He stated, "You guys keep insisting that I insulted a religion, but I didn't. My intent was not to insult any religion. I have respect for all beliefs and religions."

He also acknowledged being aware of the discussion on social media, saying, "I understand what's happening on Instagram. I can see it, but there was no intent to offend any religion. It's a song. I am not going to apologise. I'm 30 years old, and I have the right to express my truth. A word is a word. Don’t assume!”

RM added, “I know my limits, even when I'm telling the truth I can’t convince every person and some might say "oh you're lying, you're insulting." I just can't lie guys, I can't lie to you. I'm being honest. I’m fine, there are no problems. I heard there's a problem and there have been noises around. Some people keep chatting with me about that. Please believe me. I didn't want to talk about this but I had to as I can't stand it right now. I've been holding it in. I just can't deal with it.”
RM's open and transparent communication has garnered support from the ARMY, BTS’s fandom. On the professional front, RM is currently working on his album prior to his mandatory military enlistment.
