Since day one, Meghan Markle has been the center of ongoing family and personal drama. Despite a lot of efforts by the Royal Family’s PR, the issues simply keep going. Most recently, five of Meghan Markle’s friends spoke out anonymously on her behalf. These five women chose to remain anonymous to “protect private relationships they hold dear,” but the choice was obviously made to help their friend.
Many people don’t think this was the best move. Despite good intentions, some believe these newest interviews are only doing more harm than good when it comes to Markle’s family drama. But are they really?

What did Meghan Markle’s friends say?
During the interview, the five female friends of Meghan Markle aimed to clear the air about all of the ongoing issues. This includes her relationships with her family, the reasons for the interview, and to dispel all of the “lies and untruths” circulating currently in the media.
On the topic of why these five friends chose to speak out when they did, a former co-star of Markle’s stated that “Meg has silently sat back and endured the lies and the untruths.” The former co-star went on to say that “it’s wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they’re pregnant.”
A long time friend also wanted to clear the air about how the media has portrayed Meghan Markle’s relationship with her half-siblings, Samantha and Thomas, Jr., who were already teenagers when Meghan was born. “They have been made to appear as siblings who had this falling out, and… they were not a part of her life.”
Did Markle ask her friends for help?
The first issue is that, while the Duchess of Sussex claims to have had no idea about the interviews, many think she may have commissioned or requested them. This is (at this point) only rumors with no substantial proof, but the idea doesn’t help Meghan Markle stay out of the spotlight. If she did, in fact, ask her friends to speak out on her behalf, then many would think she has something to hide or that what the friends stated was untrue.
Royal correspondent disapproves

Imogen Lloyd Webber is a royal correspondent who recently spoke to People Magazine about the article released on the behalf of Meghan Markle. Webber stated disapproval by saying that “it is very difficult when you start speaking out, it is a slippery slope, so we shall see.” She goes on to say that when the new royal baby is announced it might help to “reset” the situation with more press focused on that positive situation versus Markle’s family drama.
Webber did, however, find something in the article rather shocking. During her interview, Webber expressed shock that Markle’s father knew how to get ahold of his daughter. When asked about the article’s most surprising revelation, Webber stated “that her father can get in touch with her. That was shocking to me.”
Are Markle’s friends doing more harm than good with the family drama?
With the interviews out only recently, things are still up in the air over whether Markle’s friends have helped the situation or simply fanned the flames. People at large seem to be split. Some think the article’s revelations clear the air, while others feel it is a hopeless attempt to end Meghan Markle’s family drama.
The good news is that it is likely that the upcoming birth of the royal baby will help to stamp out
