Meghan Markle has made a lot of adjustments to her life since meeting Prince Harry. But while the Duchess of Sussex has spent a lot of time learning about British customs, history, and the royal family’s role in the country, she might not want the same for her children.
According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want their children to grow up learning about their American roots. And, they might even send them to an American school. We share the details, ahead.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are considering an American school for their children
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex want their children to grow up as normal as possible. However, that doesn’t exactly mean shipping them off to boarding school in the United States. Instead, the parents-to-be are allegedly considering an American school in the United Kingdom.
“The pregnant Duchess of Sussex and the Duke of Sussex are said to be considering sending their first-born to the private, co-ed ACS Egham International School in Egham, Surrey,” E! News reports. “Formerly known as the American Community School, ACS offers an American curriculum to students aged 4 to 18,” they confirm.
It’s located near their future family home in Windsor
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be drawn to the American curiculum — after all, their children will be half American — but perhaps the location is what makes them want to send Baby Sussex and their future children to ACS. The school is located near Great Windsor Park, which is conveniently very close to the parents-to-be new family home, Frogmore Cottage.
They’re planning ahead for the future
While they have a few years before they send their firstborn off to school, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking into education ahead of time, as the first few years goes by quickly. Not to mention: Getting into private school — even as a royal — can take some time, so they might want to lock in their child’s education ahead of time.
They want a diverse education for their children
Education is important to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and they “are thought to want a more diverse education for their child,” a source told E! News. Sending them to an American school in Britain could offer what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking for.
Meghan Markle wants their kids to learn about her heritage
Meghan Markle has sacrificed a lot for her new life. However, she doesn’t want to erase her American heritage and hopes Baby Sussex and any future children will learn about where their other side of the family comes from. “Meghan is also keen for her child to be fully aware of his or her American heritage,” a source confirmed to E! News.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will encourage a life outside of royalty
While they can’t avoid their royal status, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to raise their children in a normal setting and hope to encourage them to pursue careers outside of the royal family.
