DELTONA, Fla. – Volusia County leaders have partnered with the county’s Florida Department of Health to host a two-day drive-up vaccination event in Deltona.

People 65 and older will be able to get a shot of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine Thursday and Friday at Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex. Vaccinations will be administered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., appointments are required.

All appointment slots were filled 15 minutes after the site opened for registration Tuesday.

DOH-Volusia will return to this location in 28 days to offer the second dose to those who are due. Those who receive a vaccination Thursday or Friday should plan to return to the site in 28 days for their second dose. The vaccines are free, according to the DOH.

Below are frequently asked questions regarding the vaccination event.

How do I register?

Appointments must be made at volusiacountyc19deweyoboster.eventbrite.com. Registration opens at 3 p.m. Tuesday. All slots were filled as of 3:15 p.m.

How many appointments will be available?

The county said 1,000 appointments will be available each day and will be in one-hour timeslots.

Once timeslots are full, appointments will no longer be available. There’s a maximum of two registrations per transaction.

People who show up to the event without an appointment will not receive a vaccine, according to the county.

What if I can’t register online?

People who don’t have access to the internet are asked to call 866-345-0345 for assistance scheduling an appointment until registrations have reached capacity for this event.

Calls will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Vehicles must enter the site via a right turn from Saxon Boulevard, left turns into the entrance will not be permitted. Vehicles must exit via Section Line Trail; no entrance on Section Line Trail will be available.
