Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha: Release time explained for Netflix’s new K-drama - HITC - Football, Gaming, Movies, TV, Music

A brand-new Korean drama series is about to premiere on Netflix, but what time will Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha release on the streaming platform?

Fans of Korean dramas on Netflix are being treated to a brand new series this weekend, a romantic comedy called ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’.

A remake of a 2004 South Korean movie (Mr. Hong), the series will tell the story of Yoon Hye-Jin, a dentist who movies to the remote seaside village of Gongjin.

There, a romance starts to blossom when she meets Hong Du-Sik, a jack-of-all-trades character who is widely known as ‘Chief Hong’ by the local residents.

Now, all that fans need to know is when episode 1 of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha will release around the world.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha: Release date and time

  • Episode 1 of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha episode 1 will launch via Netflix on Saturday, August 28th and episode 2 on Sunday, August 29th; with a release time expected to be 3 PM BST.

The Korean drama will air first on South Korean television station tvN at 9 PM local time, before arriving on Netflix at the following expected times:

  • Pacific Time: 7 AM PDT
  • Central Time: 9 AM CDT
  • Eastern Time: 10 AM EDT
  • British Time: 3 PM BST
  • European Time: 4 PM CEST
  • India Time: 7: 30 PM IST
  • Philippine Time: 10 PM PHT
  • Japan Time: 11 PM JST
  • Australia Time: 11: 30 PM ACST

Described times are based on the release of previous Korean titles that also aired first on tvN at 9 PM local time which were also correct, such as Hospital Playlist. This article will be updated if any of the described information is officially altered.

How many episodes are in season 1?

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha will consist of 16 episodes, each with a runtime of approximately 70 minutes.

New episodes are scheduled to air in both South Korea and launch internationally via Netflix every Saturday and Sunday for the next eight weeks.

If there are no surprise breaks in the weekly broadcast, the season 1 finale will premiere on Sunday, October 17th.

Meet the Cha-Cha-Cha cast…

The three main cast members in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha are Shin Min-A as Yoon Hye-Jin, Kim Sun-Ho as Hong Du-Sik and Lee Sang-Yi as Ji Sung-Hyun.

Shin Min-A is a popular South Korean actress and model who is best known for her performances in Go Go 70s (2007), My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox (2010), Oh My Venus (2015) and Tomorrow With You (2017).

The 37-year-old has consistently appeared on our screens over the past few years, with appearances in the 2019 hit series Chief of Staff and the 2020 thriller movie, Diva.

Shin Min-A takes the leading role alongside Kim Sun-Ho, one of the fastest-rising South Korean actors of the past several years.

The 35-year-old only made his acting debut in 2017 but shot to international acclaim after his performance in fellow tvN series, Start-Up (2020).

Other notable roles include Two Cops (2017), Welcome to Waikiki 2 (2019) and Catch the Ghost (2019) – you can find him on Instagram @seonho_kim.

Lee Sang-Yi on the other hand is a popular South Korean actor, who is arguably better known as a musician with the MSG Wannabe band.

The 29-year-old has appeared in a variety of television and cinema productions, including Prison Playbook (2017), Once Again (2020) and Youth Of May (2021).

Away from the screen, Lee Sang-Yi has had an impressive career in musical theatre, appearing in Thrill Me (2016), The Legend of Georgia McBride (2019) and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (2020).
