Jennifer Aniston appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday and told the audience that Kimmel inappropriately texted his wife, Molly McNearney, when a plane she was in with the "Friends" star was possibly going down.
Appearing with Adam Sandler to promote their new Netflix movie, "Murder Mystery," Aniston said that McNearney and a bunch of girlfriends, including Courteney Cox, had surprised her with a trip to Mexico for her 50th birthday, and the plane they were on lost a tire upon liftoff.
"On the takeoff, on the taxi, we heard an explosion," she told Kimmel. "It sounded like a pothole if it was a car big enough to go over the Grand Canyon."
Aniston said two hours into the flight from LAX to Cabo San Lucas, the plane was rerouted to Ontario International Airport in Ontario, CA., due to the absent wheel.
"I have a real fear of flying, obviously, and nobody else does," Aniston said. "Two hours into the flight attendant comes over to me and she says, 'The pilots would like to talk to you.'"
Too scared to find out what was happening, Aniston sent a friend into the cockpit. In the meantime, everyone had a proper freakout, texting loved ones that their flight was in trouble.
"Everybody starts texting all of their spouses and their children and I'm like, 'What's going on?'" Aniston said.
Aniston revealed McNearny's sweet text to Kimmel, "Jimmy, I love you and I love Jane and you've always been an incredible husband." Kimmel's response, Aniston recalled, was that he'd already signed up for Tinder.
"I just signed up for Tinder but I PROMISE not to activate it until we know what's what," he wrote back.
He also included his "profile picture," which was a shirtless (and hairy-chested) selfie with a backward baseball hat on.
Aniston even showed the texts as proof.
"You know, I was trying to lighten the mood," Kimmel said in his defense, adding that he was thrilled the plane filled "with some of America's most beloved national treasures" had landed safely.
As it turned out, the plane had lost a tire on takeoff and they needed to make an emergency landing.
