This video was supposed to generate hype for the WWE title match between Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. However, the plan severely backfired.
The WWE fanbase used this video to showcase their mass disapproval of this forced booking made by WWE. The video carries over 255,000 dislikes and has become the most-hated video ever uploaded by WWE in 9 hours.

Fans in the video can also be heard loudly screaming “Cody, Cody” multiple times. Moreover, the comments section showed clear hate from the fans for this move. Some of the fans were divided between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk as the deserving winner of the Royal Rumble.
