K-drama actress Hwang Jung-eum and businessman Lee Young-don have decided to part ways after eight years of marriage. Sources claimed that Jung-eum recently submitted divorce papers to the court, citing her husband as the cause of the rift.

On February 22, South Korean media outlets reported that K-drama star Hwang Jung-eum had filed for divorce from her husband Lee Young-don. For the unversed, the couple had previously filed for divorce in 2020. However, in 2021, Hwang Jung-eum’s label Y1 Entertainment had revealed that the duo had reconciled.

This time around, however, there seems to be no turning back for the Kill Me, Heal Me actress. Following the numerous reports, Jang-eum's label Y1 Entertainment confirmed that the actress had filed for divorce. "After much deliberation, Hwang Jung-eum decided that she could no longer maintain her marriage and has filed for divorce," a representative from the label said.

When asked the reason behind the couple's sudden divorce, the official explained, "Please understand that we can't reveal the reason for divorce as it pertains to her personal life. Please refrain from speculating on the divorce for the sake of the actress and her child." Meanwhile, fans speculate that the K-drama star got tired of Lee Young-don's extramarital affairs and finally filed for divorce. Jung-eum seemed to have hinted at her husband's infinitely through her latest Instagram post. "He looks like someone you’d have a hard time remembering. If I remember, I think he dated like 400 people," she had written while responding to a fan's comment about his appearance.

Hwang Jung-eum started dating former pro golfer and businessman Lee Young-don in 2015. The couple tied the knot on February 26, 2016, only six months after they started dating. They were blessed with their first kid, a son, in August 2017. In September 2020, the actress filed for divorce, but later withdrew the request. Following that, she welcomed her second child with Young-don in 2022.
