YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, best known as MrBeast, uploaded an extreme version of the classic game hide and seek, playing alongside popular YouTube stars, where the winner would receive $1 million if they won the game (by being found last). The video was set in Los Angeles' newly built So-Fi stadium, home of the LA Rams. MrBeast has been on YouTube since the age of 13, becoming famous for his generous cash giveaways. The video that put MrBeast's name out on the internet was the one where he donated $10,000 to a homeless man. He has since continued the unique and entertaining formula, creating hugely successful videos on the platform.
Despite already being an incredibly well-known figure in the YouTube community, MrBeast boosted his popularity after uploading his Squid Game in real life tournament back in late November. MrBeast and his team were widely praised for their dedication for creating an almost identical set that replicated the popular Netflix show. The YouTuber mentioned that he spent around $3.5 million to make the video, with the prize money being set at $456,000 for the winner.
In his latest video, MrBeast uploaded a follow-up to his "1,000,000 Influencer Tournament!" with a hide and seek video, set in the same location as the previous video. There were originally fifteen popular YouTube stars in the first video that kicked off the tournament, but five were eliminated after failing to win some challenges. The stars left competing for the $1 million prize included Logan Paul, Bella Poarch, Quackity, Larray, Zach King, MatPat, Sofie Dossi, Mark Rober, Rosanna Pansino, and ZHC. The difficulty is increased throughout as the newly built So-Fi stadium is an incredibly large venue. MrBeast and his team constantly put challenges throughout the video, such as closing specific perimeters of the area, in order to speed up the process of finding all ten of the stars. Check out the video below:
The video has already gathered 28 million views in just a day, nearly beating his previous video (before the YouTuber tournaments) where MrBeast was hunted by the military, which received 30 million views in just two days. The hide and seek is a thoroughly entertaining video featuring YouTube's finest creators. It's always difficult to predict what MrBeast will think of next.
MrBeast's content never fails to entertain. The 23-year-old YouTuber has already had a great start to the month due to the Squid Game tournament. The video broke three records in less than a week; most views in a day for a non-music video/trailer, fastest non-music video to reach 100 million views in less than four days, as well as most subscribers gained in one day after adding 1.4 million subscribers to his already large following. With YouTube stars being eligible for Emmy Awards, it is safe to say that MrBeast's lists of accolades will just keep expanding.
