In new footage seen in a TV spot for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker apologizes to the world.

In No Way Home, Tom Holland's Spider-Man will ask Doctor Strange to help him erase his secret identity from the minds of the general public. Unfortunately, after Peter alters the spell, Strange's magic opens up portals to the multiverse that allow a wealth of classic Spidey enemies to come into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new clip from the film shows that Peter will be addressing the situation publicly, saying, "The truth is, I accidentally brought those dangerous people here." Additionally, the footage suggests that The Daily Bugle will help broadcast Peter's plea across multiple billboards in New York City, as he continues, "World, if you're watching, wish me luck. your friendly-neighborhood Spider-Man could really use some."

Though it seems that Peter will own up to his mistakes in No Way Home, he'll likely have to mend some bridges as well. The clip hints that Spider-Man and Doctor Strange's relationship will become strained in the film after the Sorcerer Supreme accuses Peter of botching their spell. The tension between Spider-Man and Doctor Strange is a heavily promoted part of No Way Home's release; multiple clips show the two battling one another and fighting side-by-side at different points, making it unclear where they will stand by the movie's end.

Strange's frustrations involve the arrival of various villains from Sony's Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man franchises. The promo shows Holland encountering these characters at different points in the film, with Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus showing up on the New York State highway, Jamie Foxx's Electro by a set of electrical conductors and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin in the rubble of a city building. Previously, trailers for the No Way Home have teased an alliance between Spider-Man and Doc Ock, with Peter even laughing at Octavius' real name. At the same time, other promos suggest that Electro considers Spider-Man to be an old friend, casting a cloud of mystery over the returning rogue's true intentions.

With No Way Home welcoming past Spider-Man villains into the fold, many fans theorize that prior Peters Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will leap into the MCU to help Holland clean up his mess. The trio remain tight-lipped on the rumor, though they admit that they've crossed paths in real life -- Holland revealed that the three Spider-Men have a group chat where they keep tabs on one another, although he's the only one who regularly uses it.

Spider-Man: No Way Home swings into theaters on Dec. 17.
