On May 13, HYBE released an official statement to address allegations made by NewJeans' parents through an email. "We received this email on April 3 and had already replied on April 16, stating that the matter was not related to plagiarism," the label stated. The agency also touched up claims that HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk would not greet NewJeans' members, saying, "We also want to state that the claim made about the origin of the ADOR issue being due to not receiving greetings or being neglected is a unilateral assertion and not true."

Additionally, a senior HYBE official clarified the reason behind a long hiatus plan for NewJeans post Min Hee-jin's dismissal. "Giving them a long vacation doesn't mean they will be on hiatus. It's usual for idols to work hard post-comeback, rest and then prepare for another comeback. We are not halting NewJeans' activities. HYBE is committed to caring for NewJeans and supporting them to become top artists," the official said, before adding, "Why would we discuss producers if we were planning a hiatus? This is just a malicious play by CEO Min Hee-jin to incite fan anger for her personal independence."

Expressing strong disapproval of ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin's actions, HYBE said, "We cannot condone Min Hee-jin's behavior of using artists as shields for personal gain, and even pushing the parents to the forefront. We urge her not to mislead the public opinion and to exercise restraint to protect the value of the artists."

NewJeans' parents' email to HYBEOn May 13, South Korean media outlet Ilgan Sports revealed that NewJeans' parents had sent an email to ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, which was later forwarded to BELIFT LAB. In the email, the members’ parents criticized BELIFT LAB for intentionally plagiarizing NewJeans and called out HYBE's founder Bang Si-hyuk for ignoring the girls.

HYBE-ADOR's feud

HYBE and ADOR have been in the midst of a massive feud since April 22 after HYBE initiated an audit against ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. The company accused ADOR's management of devising a plan to gain complete control of the sub-label, leaking sensitive information and attempts to tarnish the reputation of HYBE and its artists.
