Seventeen to Host Global Fan Meeting in Seoul
K-pop sensation Seventeen is set to host a highly anticipated fan meeting at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome on July 23-24. The announcement, made on the group's official social media on May 28, was accompanied by a vibrant poster for the '2024 SVT 8TH FAN MEETING.' The poster showcases the members greeting their fans with a cheerful 'WELCOME CARAT' sign, expressing their excitement for the upcoming event.
This fan meeting will be both an in-person and online event, allowing Seventeen’s global fanbase, known as Carats, to join in from all corners of the world.
Seventeen has had a packed schedule this year, solidifying their connection with fans worldwide. They recently concluded the 'SEVENTEEN TOUR 'FOLLOW' AGAIN,' performing to 380,000 fans across four major stadiums in Korea and Japan. Their energetic performances have been a testament to their global popularity and dedication.
The group's calendar remains busy with performances at the 'Weverse Con Festival' in June and a major appearance on the main stage of the 'Glastonbury Festival' in the UK. Additionally, Seventeen is set to headline 'Lollapalooza Berlin' in September, further showcasing their international appeal.
Meet SEVENTEEN
Formed by Pledis Entertainment, Seventeen consists of thirteen talented members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. Since their debut on May 26, 2015, with the EP "17 Carat," they have gained a massive following and international recognition for their unique music and dynamic performances.
"17 Carat" quickly became a landmark release, earning the title of the longest-charting K-pop album of the year in the US and making it onto Billboard's "10 Best K-Pop Albums of 2015" list. Over the years, Seventeen has released four studio albums, twelve EPs, and three reissues, firmly establishing themselves as a leading force in the K-pop industry.
What distinguishes Seventeen is their self-producing capability. The members are actively involved in songwriting, music production, and choreography, showcasing their versatile talents. The group operates in three units: hip-hop, vocal, and performance, each excelling in different facets of their craft. This unique structure has earned them titles like "Performance Kings," "Theater Kids of K-Pop," and "K-Pop Performance Powerhouse" from global media.
The name Seventeen symbolizes their composition: "13 members + 3 units + 1 group." Originally intended to debut with 17 members, including four former pre-debut trainees—Jang Do-yoon, Samuel Kim, Shin Dong-jin, and Yao Mingming—the name represents their unity and collective strength.
As Seventeen continues to captivate audiences worldwide with their energetic performances and engaging music, the upcoming fan meeting in Seoul promises to be a memorable event for Carats everywhere.
