HYBE has been exposed! The label has been accused of pressuring media companies to write unfavorable articles about ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and manipulating NewJeans' parents.

On May 28, South Korean media outlet Ilgan Sports exposed HYBE for their media play and manipulation tactics amid their ongoing feud with ADOR. According to the news outlet, a marketing officer from HYBE had approached a media outlet and asked them to exclude the names of HYBE's investors from a report to make it seem like ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin had met with investors that had nothing to do with HYBE. Additionally, Ilgan Sports accused HYBE’s PR team of pressuring news outlets to write unfavorable articles about Min Hee-jin.

The media outlet also accused HYBE of manipulating the parents of NewJeans. As per the report, NewJeans' parents lost faith in HYBE after the lied to them about Min Hee-jin's shaman connections. "After explaining the shaman allegations to NewJeans' parents, HYBE told the parents not to share the news with their children as it may hurt the members. However, just 1 hour after the meeting, the articles were released. After this, the members’ parents felt they couldn’t trust HYBE after pretending to care about their daughters only to release the articles themselves," the outlet stated.

HYBE vs ADOR controversy

HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin have been in the midst of a legal dispute since April 22 this year, when HYBE initiated an audit against ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. The agency accused ADOR's CEO and management of devising a plan to gain complete control of the sub-label, leaking sensitive information and attempts to tarnish the reputation of HYBE and its artists.

Following the audit, Min Hee-jin held a press conference to tell her side of the story. During the press conference, the ADOR CEO denied claims of a takeover, exposed chats with HYBE founder Bang Si-hyuk and clarified rumours about a shaman being involved in all her label-related decisions.
