ILLIT personally followed NewJeans anti-fan account?
On May 20, ILLIT had caused quite the stir after netizens discovered that the K-pop group's official Twitter account was following an anti-fan account dedicated to NewJeans. The X (formerly Twitter) user not slammed NewJeans' on multiple occasions, they also threw shade at YG Entertainment's newest girl group BABYMONSTER. While ILLIT immediately unfollowed the account, the group faced backlash from fans of the the other two girl groups. The controversy further exploded after South Korean media outlet Sports Kyung Hyang reported that ILLIT members are known to directly use their official Twitter account. The report seemingly suggests that it wasn’t ILLIT’s label or staff, but the members themselves who followed the anti-fan account.
Soon after the report surfaced online, ILLIT's fans came to the group's defense. "Y'all really think they have the account to themselves? Get a grip. Managers probably have access. And why would the members WANTEDLY follow a rando account? To set themselves up more," a fan tweeted. Another added, "This pisses me off. They would have no reason to do this. I’m sure the LAST thing these five girls want is MORE hate being thrown at them. Get a grip and use your critical thinking skills for two seconds. In what world would they do this themselves?! Even more so because we know," while a third simply wrote, "No, why would you do that?"
HYBE vs ADOR controversy
NewJeans and ILLIT have been at the center of controversy due to HYBE and ADOR's ongoing feud. HYBE and ADOR have been in the midst of a legal dispute since April 22 this year, when HYBE initiated an audit against ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. The agency accused ADOR's management of devising a plan to gain complete control of the sub-label, leaking sensitive information and attempts to tarnish the reputation of HYBE and its artists.https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMipgFodHRwczovL3d3dy50aW1lc25vd25ld3MuY29tL2VudGVydGFpbm1lbnQtbmV3cy9rb3JlYW4vaWxsaXQtYWNjdXNlZC1vZi1wZXJzb25hbGx5LWZvbGxvd2luZy1uZXdqZWFucy1hbnRpLWZhbi1vbi10d2l0dGVyLWZhbnMtY29tZS10by10aGVpci1kZWZlbnNlLWFydGljbGUtMTEwMzAzMjEw0gGqAWh0dHBzOi8vd3d3LnRpbWVzbm93bmV3cy5jb20vZW50ZXJ0YWlubWVudC1uZXdzL2tvcmVhbi9pbGxpdC1hY2N1c2VkLW9mLXBlcnNvbmFsbHktZm9sbG93aW5nLW5ld2plYW5zLWFudGktZmFuLW9uLXR3aXR0ZXItZmFucy1jb21lLXRvLXRoZWlyLWRlZmVuc2UtYXJ0aWNsZS0xMTAzMDMyMTAvYW1w?oc=5
